We make coats, mantos and jackets only from karakul, the Bukhara fur that reaches us directly from Bukhara. We do not offer mink, fox or other furs: karakul is our speciality. Even within karakul there is plenty of choice: different lengths, shades and characters.

Choosing the length of a woman's fur coat

Length is the most visible decision, so let us take it separately.

A short jacket like the Champagne suits you if you drive a lot, get in and out of the car often and want freedom of movement. It looks relaxed with trousers and jeans and dressy with a skirt. It covers less, though, so for long walks on a cold day a longer model is more comfortable.

An elongated mantle such as the Royale, with its standing collar, is a formal, distinguished choice. It works with a business suit and an evening dress alike.

A straight-cut, full-length coat like the Noir is the classic. The straight silhouette does not fight your figure and elongates the line when the length is chosen for your measurements. That is why it is worth trying at least two models side by side rather than relying on photos.

Colour: black, grey or golden beige

The collection has three shades of karakul, and each does its own job.

Black is deep, calm and goes with almost everything. If this is your first fur coat and you want to wear it for many years, black is the safest choice.

Smoky grey with a subtle pearlescent sheen is softer and lighter: it softens the look and catches the light nicely. It pairs well with cool tones — blue, graphite, white.

Golden beige is the most delicate and the most noticeable. It suits warm tones and anyone who does not want to disappear into the grey winter city. Keep the practical side in mind: light fur needs more attention to cleanliness.

How much do women's fur coats cost

The word “from” matters: the final price depends on the model, shade, size and individual requirements. So the most reliable way is to tell the consultant the model and your wishes and get an exact figure.

When you compare prices, look not only at the total but at what you get for it: what fur the coat is made of, where it comes from, who made it and how, and whether it can be fitted to your figure. We answer those questions directly.

What to check when you try a fur coat on

Even the most beautiful coat in a photo has to be tried on. In front of the mirror, check:

• Shoulders and sleeves: raise your arms, hug yourself — the coat should not pull or bind.
• Sleeve length: it should not swallow your hand or leave your wrist bare.
• Sitting: sit on a chair and make sure the hem does not ride up.
• What you wear underneath: try it on in what you actually wear in winter — a thick jumper changes the fit.
• Fur and seams: the curl should be even and dense, the shine natural and silky; look at the lining side and the seams.

If standard sizes do not fit, and buying as a gift

If you are buying a women's fur coat as a gift, the biggest risk is size and shade. Look at the length of outerwear she usually wears and the colour she chooses most often; for someone who likes classics, black is the safe choice. If in doubt, write to the consultant and describe her lifestyle.

Karakul is a short, dense fur, generally light and hard-wearing. A few simple habits still help it last: do not carry a heavy bag on one shoulder, because the strap gradually rubs the fur; dry a damp coat on a wide hanger in a ventilated place at room temperature, not on a radiator; in summer keep it in a breathable cover, not in plastic.
